The Coronavirus (COVID-19) has affected all of us. Most of us have changed the way we travel, we work, we communicate, we vacation, we spend, we eat, etc. News, rumors, and uncertainty have circulated fast in the past month. Fear is in our communities; and in our homes. Many of us are preparing for the worst and hoping for the best.
It’s times like this that followers of Christ are most needed. We are called to be a light to the world. We are called to help those in need. We are called to pray.
Listen to what Jesus says in:
Matthew 5:14-16
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
In light of the recent virus outbreak, I call on brothers & sisters to pray for our city. Pray for our nation. Pray for those around the world affected by this virus.
Each day, I invite you to join me in prayer at 12pm.
You can pray from your office desk. You can pray from your home. You can pray from your car. Wherever you are at 12pm, I invite you to join together in prayer. Here are three things that we can pray for:
- For God to eradicate the coronavirus.
- For all those who already have the virus to be healed.
- For the world to turn to Jesus for help during this dark and terrible time.
I know that you have things to do. I know that you yourself may be in fear at this time. But I truly believe that if we join together in prayer that God will hear us, and heal our land.
Will you join me, everyday, 12pm, in prayer?
